Fees, Cancellation, Missed Appointment, NSF, Subsidized Counselling
Please contact your extended health provider (prior to contacting me) to inquire about specific coverage under your workplan. Your insurer will want to know that I am a registered social worker with a master of social work degree. Please note that I do not provide 3rd party billing which means you will need to pay me the full fee for the appointment. I will provide you with a receipt that you must submit for reimbursement.
FEES: please note that payment must be made at the beginning of each session, if you choose to pay via email transfer you must do this before you arrive for your appointment. Cancellations must be made via text or phone with at least 48 hours notice for Tuesday - Friday appointments and by 10am Friday for all Monday appointments to avoid paying the full fee. Please read the entire policy below prior to contacting me for an appointment.
Individual: $180/hour
Relationship: $200/hour
Clinical Supervision: $180/hour
Group Programs: TBA
Report/Letter/Assessment: $180/hour
Reissuing Receipt: $50
Important Information About Your Appointment
Why have a cancellation policy?
I understand that stuff happens: projects at work pop-up; you or your kids get sick; childcare falls through; your boss or your client call an emergency meeting; someone gifts you front row seats for the concert of your dreams; your employer offers overtime hours…
That being said, scheduling an appointment involves the reservation of time that is set aside especially for you. When your allotted time is cancelled with short notice, or missed altogether, it is often too late or impossible to offer this time to someone else.
When you choose to work with me, you are ultimately paying for my time, my space, my training and my experience. In return, I am agreeing to be available to you, with commitment and consistency.
Without proper notice, there is a charge for your allotted appointment time whether you use it or not. Unfortunately, empty chairs cost money.
Therapy tends to be most helpful to people who view their appointments as an important and valuable component of their lives. For most people, money equals value. When you are willing to make therapy a priority and accept the financial commitment involved, you tend to experience greater and quicker growth and positive change.
This policy models healthy and clear boundaries and empowers you to be responsible for your life while also helping you to develop a sense of awareness about yourself and how your actions impact the people around you.

Important Information About Your Appointment
- Please plan to arrive no more than 2-3 minutes prior to our scheduled appointment time.
- Please come prepared with a cheque, cash, or make an email transfer PRIOR to your appointment ($180 individual & $200 for relationship or family counselling).
- All cancellations must be made via phone or text unless you are providing more than 4 days notice. Without proper notice, you will be charged the full counselling fee for your allotted appointment time whether you use it or not.
- You are required to cancel all Monday appointments by 10am on the Friday before your scheduled session and for all other appointments you are required to provide at least 48 hours notice.

- If your appointment was for relationship counselling and one of you cannot attend without proper notice, my expectation is that the other partner will use the allotted time for individual counselling.

- If you do not show up for a scheduled appointment ("no show") you will be billed for the full cost of the scheduled session.

- This policy applies for same-day bookings which are subsequently cancelled/missed.
- Cancellation fees will only be waived in the event of a medical emergency, requiring urgent professional treatment, a sudden death in the family or a natural disaster.
- Please abide by cancellation etiquette. 1) provide proper notice or 2) if proper notice is not provided, call/text ASAP with confirmation that you will be sending an email transfer for your allotted time, and then send the transfer immediately.
- Out of fairness to you, if I cancel your appointment with less than 24 hours notice, or in the event that I double book your appointment time or I do not show up for our scheduled appointment, there will be no charge for your next appointment.
- Please hold on to your receipt(s), a fee of $50 or $180/hour will be charged for duplicate receipts.
- For all cheques returned due to non-sufficient funds full payment of the outstanding fee plus an additional $50 service charge will be due immediately upon notice to you.
