Clinical Supervision

I offer clinical supervision on a fee-for-service basis to new and experienced clinicians that have a sound understanding and a commitment to obtain ongoing clinical and anti-oppressive training.  My interest is in working with colleagues that are enthusiastic about learning and willing to explore their thoughts, feelings, experiences, therapeutic impasses and ethical dilemmas with the purpose of enhancing skills, and developing tools to address or prevent vicarious trauma while also ensuring effective therapeutic interventions for clients.  If you are interested in entering into supervision with me, please send me your curriculum vitae and a cover letter outlining your commitment to anti-oppressive practice and ongoing professional development.

The Nature of Clinical Supervision
  • Case review
  • Ethical issues, including boundaries
  • Transference and Counter-transference
  • Use of self in clinical work

Getting the Most of Clinical Supervision
  • Come prepared and have an agenda, files, client list
  • Allow me some time to read your documentation
  • Ask questions about all aspects of the profession, not just about your clients
  • Allow yourself to be vulnerable and be willing to discuss areas of struggles and counter-transference
  • Ask for feedback
  • Provide feedback
  • Ask for support
